Two past champions will be participating in the Capital City Marathon. Six time winner Karen Steen and four-time champion Phil Jasperson are expected to be on hand for the 24th annual race.

   Steen, Ellis win Capital City Marathon (The Olympian)
Karen Steen won the Capital City Marathon for the seventh time out of eight tries, this year in 2:58:48. Matthew Ellis was the victor in his first attempt on the course in 2:36:31. 34, of Tacoma, who finished in 2:36:31. It was Ellis’ first Capital City Marathon. Karen Steen, 40, of Olympia was the top female runner. She completed the course in 2:58:48, winning the event for the seventh time in eight tries.

   Wisconsin man wins first Fargo marathon (Grand Forks Herald)
Scott Jansky of Two Rivers WI was the winner of the inaugural Fargo Marathon, winning in a time of 2:31:12. Cindy Lewandowski of Sartell MN was the winner of the women's division in 3:16:29.
