   South African wins the Comrades Marathon (IOL)
Sipho Ngomane of South Africa surged to victory in the 80th Comrades Marathon.
 
   Sipho Ngomane wins 2005 Comrades Marathon (SABC News)
23 year old Sipho Ngomane has won this year's Comrades Marathon with a time of five hours and 27 minutes. Oleg Kharitonov of Russia finished second, and Andrew Kelehe, the 1999 and 2001 winner, was third.

The Marathon of the Palm Beaches has upgraded its events, adding a 5K run and improving the sports and fitness expo. A new route along the waterfront has also been announced. Race organizers hope these actions will increase numbers for the race's second year.
