   Sipho Ngomane wins 2005 Comrades Marathon (SABC News)
23 year old Sipho Ngomane has won this year's Comrades Marathon with a time of five hours and 27 minutes. Oleg Kharitonov of Russia finished second, and Andrew Kelehe, the 1999 and 2001 winner, was third.

The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend will now include a new challenge for runners. The Half-Marathon will be run on Sat., Jan. 8, and the full on the following day, allowing participants to run both races and compete in Goofy's Race-and-a-Half Challenge

Cambridge resident Axel Christensen competed in his first Marathon, the Coca-Cola Rock 'n' Roll Marathon, on June 4 and raised $3,900 personally for Team in Training. He will travel to Ireland to compete in the Dublin Marathon this October.

   Zachary Paces Himself to Capital Triumph in Edinburgh Marathon (Edinburgh Evening News)
25 year old Kenyan Zachary Kihara made an impressive debut at the Edinuburgh Marathon, winning the race with a time of 2:15:26. Kihara was initially only supposed to be a pacemaker, but as his training with race director Ian Ladbrooke progressed, he soared past original expectations.
 
   Edinburgh Marathon Could Hit the Big Time (Edinburgh Evening News)
Ian Ladbrooke, race director of the Edinburgh Marathon, wants the race to expand into a major event, hosting up to 30,000 runners.
