This was my first marathon, so I didn't know what to expect. But, I must say that I was truly impressed by the organization and support of the spectators along the way!
The temperature was freezing at start with a little bit of frost. Not something I would expect for FL. But that's not something that could have been controlled.
The characters along the way were a good touch!

I did the Goofy Challenge this year, and it went off with very few hitches. Packet pick-up was not so smooth for us Goofy participants - I'm sure they'll get it right next year. Nice shirts for both events. Decent expo. Very good courses, sufficient water/aid stops on course, excellent medical aid after races, good supply of post-race snacks, the best medals of any marathon I've ever done, and good organization, except for the above-mentioned Goofy packet pick-up glitch.

Now for the negatives: I was very disappointed that they didn't give the cumulative times for the Goofy Challenge competitors, much less awards for this event. More disappointing was the fact that they didn't bother to return my emails requesting this. Second, the corrals are a joke. With this many people, they need to have a competitive/preferred corral with only those with registered times! (Not "predicted finish time.") I "bobbed and weaved" for the first few miles of both races. Third, I don't do massages after races, but for those that do, I'd rather not pay for the massage after dropping $180 to run in the races + all of the other expenses.

I guess these are minor bugs, so overall I give this a very high score and would recommend it to others. Good job, Disney!

This was my 133rd marathon, and 12th Disney. This year I ran the new GOOFY'S RACE AND A HALF; ran the half on Saturday and the full Sunday. To say it was magical doesn't express my feelings. I ran faster then I had planned to, and did better on the marathon then last year; go figure. I have already registered for GOOFY 2007. Disney knows how to put on a race, from the fireworks at the start of both the half and full, to the many Disney characters along the course, it's the only marathon that lets you run through your childhood. I highly recommend this marathon, and if you are going to try the GOOFY, better get in soon; from the number of people who said they are running it in 2007, it is sure to fill up.

This was my second Disney Marathon and my third marathon total. It was great. The first one I ran was Disney's last year, which was ridiculously hot. I did not mind the cooler temperatures this year. My family and friends stated how different it was this year because everyone crossing the finish line didn't look like they were going to drop because of the heat. The race was great. The weather: great. The fans: awesome! And I love the organization of the Disney Marathon. This truly is a great race. I also liked how they had the half-marathon the day before and you were able to compete in both if you wanted to. The only thing I did not like was the 2 different start lines. I know they did that for time purposes, but I still would have liked it if everyone ran the same course the entire way. Overall: the marathon was once again amazing and I recommend it to anyone.

This was my first marathon, and one I would recommend to anyone. If you have never run this race, it is definitely one that is recommended by many.

Running at 6 AM on a cold morning is nothing new for anyone coming from the Northeast. I thought the gathering times were reasonable considering the number of runners involved. Hey, after having to wait 5 hours in Hopkington, any 2-hour wait is easy. The course was well laid-out. Spectator support was impressive. More than I had figured on seeing. "Dead" areas even had humorous trivia signs. I was pleasantly surprised with the number of Disney employees who came out to encourage everyone. The volunteers were awesome - thank you. Being a frequent Disney visitor, I enjoyed viewing the parks from a different perspective.

Negatives:

(1) As someone mentioned before, turn off all the idling buses/trucks. Sucking in the diesel exhaust was brutal.

(2) I stayed at a Disney resort and neither the front desk nor the concierge had any logistical information on the weekend events or results. It would be nice if they would post the results at the resorts for people who couldn't get to the post-race party or didn't bring a computer with them on vacation to look them up online.

(3) Need to improve (or simply add) signage at the finish directing family and friends to the reunion area. My wife and 2 year-old almost walked for 26.2 just to find it.

Overall, it was fun long run that I would definitely recommend and look forward to doing again. Hopefully they can improve on a few of the negatives in the meantime. Also, I concur with previous GPS users, re-certifying the course may be in order. I had 27.3 on my GPS timer. Glad I didn't use it as a qualifier.

Run this race. Don't worry about the early start. I was asleep by 9 PM and the wake-up call at 2:30 wasn't a problem. Yes, you are expected to arrive early but there is lots going on to distract. And those porta-potty lines let you meet some great people. It was so cold [35F] at the start but I had prepared with gloves, 2 jackets and some old sweats to toss along the route and was fairly comfortable. The course itself was all I had hoped; flat and fun with many water/Powerade stations, lots of food and gels and medical aid. If you want Tylenol, though, take your own, as you must stop, have your bib # recorded and wait while they cut open the packet. My only complaint has to do with the expo. I went Friday afternoon and found almost no official race merchandise in my size (6). Was it all sold or were they unprepared for the fact that runners aren't the same size as the usual Disney crowd? I was really hoping to get a colorful Disney Marathon jacket or fleece of the quality I saw people wearing from Marine Corps, Boston, etc. On the whole, though, I had to search for something to complain about. I can't imagine a better experience.

This was my 3rd Disney and I was not going to run this year till I heard about Goofy and could not resist. I talked to many Goofy runners who ran both races hard. I guess we are all slightly crazy. My plan was to run the half at about 2 min/mile slower than normal but that only lasted for a mile. Oh well, was close enough to PR's in both. One suggestion for next year: why not combine the two Goofy times and have a Goofy race result?

Anyway, my experiences at Disney have always been great and even though it is not a cheap trip it is well worth the experience.

This was my first marathon so I do not have a lot to compare to. I am a Disney fan and loved the course. We ran through all four parks. Lots of music, rides running, lights. Disney characters on the course, bring a camera for pics. Great spectators. All volunteers were helpful and friendly. Plenty of water, PowerAde, and porta-potties. Big crowds during the start, but I found this exciting. Also have to report early to the start but this did not bother me. I would recommend this race to anyone considering a marathon. This race gets 5 stars in every category.

Another great marathon hosted by the Disney folks, and this is a good one for first-timers.

The split of the half and full marathons helped with congestion. It is a bit of a pain to catch a bus by 4 a.m. for a 6 a.m. start, but there is enough entertainment and friendly people to make the time go by quickly.

The course is great (who wouldn't want to high-five with Mr. Incredible, Woody or Chip and Dale on the course?) and the support is super. I have planned on making this a yearly event on our schedule since it offers so much for the entire family beyond the race. Highly recommended by this middle-of-the-pack marathoner.
