MarathonGuide.com is a website created by Runners - for Runners. Without the "BS" found on some other running sites, we're trying to create a site that offers good and in-depth information for runners training for a marathon, trying to learn about marathoning or trying to find their next marathon. Help us to provide good and useful information.
What we Do For You
For Race Directors who list their marathons on MarathonGuide.com, we offer the following services (and they're all free):
- A listing for your marathon among listings for all of the marathons in the world.
- Recent and Past Results in a searchable/sortable form.
- Your entry form on MarathonGuide.com in printable (PDF) format.
- Accept online registrations for your race.
- Free Marathon Home Page for your race.
- Opportunity to provide news or special information about your race to be displayed on MarathonGuide.com
- Access to the "Race Directors Only" Bulletin Boards - a forum for sharing information with your peers in other places.
What we Expect From You
Really, we are trying to create a worldwide forum for marathoners and marathons. Ideally, we would like the Race Directors who participate in MarathonGuide.com to provide support in any way that they feel comfortable.
At a minimum: we require that Race Directors agree to:
- keep the information about their races up-to-date
- provide us with race results and entry forms to post on the website when they become available
What we'd really like (but these are up to you):
- contribute information, stories, news,
- provide us with some free, guaranteed, race entries to give away as prizes on the website (good PR for you too!),
- links from your site to ours
- mention of MarathonGuide.com in whatever materials you see fit
- a lifelong friendship and partnership!!!
What we Charge (nothing!)
Yes, you read that right. We don't charge anything for any of the above. Why? Because we love running and we want to create the best website out there, and we can't do it without you. Besides, if we give you stuff (and services) for free, we hope that you'll reciprocate by being nice to us (as above). It's a) that Golden Rule thing, b) the idea that we're all in this together, and c) our hope that we can at least sell enough other advertising to pay for the webservers (we'll see about that).
