   Kenyans Finish 1-2-3 at Athens Classic Marathon (Sports Illustrated)
Kenya's Josephat Kipkurui won the Athen's Classic Marahton with a time of 2 hours 13 minutes and 44 seconds while fellow countryman Edwin Kipchom finished in 2 hours 14 minutes and 18 seconds.
 
   Ngetich, Ozaki Prevail in 'Battle of Marathon' - Athens Marathon Report (IAAF.org)
Josephat Kipkirui Ngetchi, 23 of Kenya, won the Athens Marathon with a time of 2 hours 13 minutes and 44 seconds with second fastest time in twenty-six years over the challenging marathon course.

Eight hundred runners showed up for the postponed Atlantic City Marathon. A race of this size costs nearly sixty-thousand dollars and Brian Barry is hoping for more sponsors next year.

   Two Pennsylvania Runners Win Atlantic City Marathon (Press of Atlantic City)
The 51st Atlantic City Marathon saw two runners from Pennsylvania take hop top honors in the men and women's overall marathon. Brian Click of Havertown won the men's title and Mindy Sawtelle won the women's event.

One of the three men in the Detroit Free Press Marathon suffered from heart disease and was declared to have died from natural causes. Rick Brown, 65, of Marietta collapsed while running the half-marathon.

The Indianapolis Monumental Marathon was won by Mathew Chesang of Eau Claire Wisconsin who finished with a time of 2 hours 21 minutes. More than six-thousand runners participated in the race.

Mathew Chesan won the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon on Saturday with a time of 2 hours 21 minutes while Molly Brown=Boulay won the women's race in 3 hours 7 minutes and 29 seconds.

Vincent Chepsiror captured his second consecutive Philippine Marathon with a time of 2 hours 25 minutes and 43 seconds as Kenyans swept the top three positions. Cebuana Miscelle Gibuena won the women's title with 3 hours 18 minutes and 8 seconds.

Vincent Chepsiror won his second straight victory at the Philippine International Marathon with a time of 2 hours 25 minutes and 43 seconds to lead a Kenyan one, two, three sweep.
