Dale Warrander of the Gold Coast made an impressive comeback down the final five kilmetres to win his third Auckland Marathon, beating out Timaru's Sam Wreford, for a time of 2:19:22, 34 seconds ahead of Wreford.

   Records Smashed at Frankfurt Marathon (Race Results Weekly)
Both men's and women's course records were broken at the Frankfurt marathon, with Kenyan Wilson Kipsang becoming just the eighth man to break the 2:05 mark, with his time of 2:04:57. Kenya's Caroline Cheptonui Kilel won the women's race in 2:23:55.
