   Kastor Just Five Seconds Off Her Area 15km Record (IAAF)
Kastor‘s 47:20 victory which was a near solo run was just 5 seconds short of the mark she set when claiming the title over the same Gate River Run course four years ago. Kastor, 32, is focussing on the Boston Marathon this spring.
 
   Gate River Run: After Head Start, No Looking Back (The Florida Times Union)
Keflezighi defended his race championship and won a record sixth men's title in 43:39, but he couldn't make up the five-minute head start given to Kastor. He finished 1:19 behind her but 22 seconds ahead of Hall, the second male finisher.

Ryan Hall could not beat the record as he did not feel comfortable and lacked excitement to hold a faster pace.

Deena Kastor was five seconds off of her American 15-kilometer record, but in finishing in 47 minutes, 20 seconds, she became the first woman to win five River Runs.

For the first time a woman, Deena Kastor, won the Equalizer Challenge, and Meb Keflezighi won the 15K title for the sixth time -- also a record -- with time of 43:40.
