   AETC seeks runners for 2009 U.S. Air Force Marathon (Air Education and Training Command)
The thirteenth annual 2009 U.S. Air Force Marathon takes place on September 19 at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton Ohio and the Air Education and Training Command will select two men and two women to represent the AETC in the marathon race which is open to the public.

The Bayshore Marathon was capped at seventeen hundred runners and the half-marathon was capped at fifteen hundred runners. Both races filled within seven weeks. With only two weeks to go until race day the 10K has over twelve hundred runners and still climbing.

Terry Melloy won last years Blue Nose International Marathon with a time of 2 hours 48 minutes and 45 seconds. The 49-year old will not be able to defend his title this year due to the onset of a leg injury that has him a bit bewildered.

Matt Hooley qualified for the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials for the second time when he won the Eugene Marathon in course record fashion with a time of 2 hours 18 minutes and 38 seconds. His time qualifies him for the "A" standard for the trials and was a new personal record despite harsh conditions in Eugene.

Pete Gilman, 33, outlasted the Kenyan field in the fifth annual Fargo Marathon to win the overall marathon title with a time of 2 hours 24 minutes and 33 seconds.
 
   Cueno wins women’s Fargo Marathon (The Dickinson Press)
Nicole Cueno, 29, claimed the fifteen hundred dollar prize for first place in the fifth annual Fargo Marathon with a time of 2 hours 53 minutes and 15 seconds.

With numbers nearly twenty percent higher than last year, the inclement weather did not seem to be a factor for the Fredericton Marathon. Alex Coffin rolled to the victory in 2 hours 47 minutes and 34 seconds.
