Lisa Tamati was the eighth woman to cross the finish line at the Badwater Ultra Marathon. She was one hour faster than her 2008 performance as she battled extreme fatigue and hallucinations in temperatures that soared into the one-hundred and twenty degree range.

Hutch DeLoach won the 135-mile Badwater Ultra Marathon with a time of 23 hours 39 minutes and 18 seconds missing the course record set in 2007 by just under one hour.

Saturday is the last day to register for the Deseret News Marathon and accompanying events. Late registration takes place on July 22 from 4 to 9 pm and again on July 23 from 11 am to 6 pm at the EnergySolutions Arena. Late registration for the 26.2 mile race is 65 dollars.

   Helena native wins Missoula Marathon in record time (Missoulian)
Kiefer Hahn, who is a fitness trainer in Missoula, smashed his own course record on Sunday in the Missoula Marathon. Hahn waited until the last possible moment to register and never looked at his watch winning the marathon with a time of 2 hours 33 minutes and 17 seconds.
 
   Records fall at 2009 Missoula marathon (KECI)
Race organizers reported that cool weather on Sunday led to record setting times for the third annual Missoula Marathon. Kiefer Hahn of Missoula won the men's marathon with a time of 2 hours 33 minutes and 21 seconds. Annie Thiessen set a new women's marathon record on her way to winning with a time of 2 hours 57 minutes and 45 seconds.
