Joel Kiplimo Kemboi won the 2009 City to Surf marathon with a time of just over 2 hours and 15 minutes as Kenyans went 1,2 in the thirty-fifth year with over forty-thousand competitors.
 
   Dawes in the Money as Guernsey Marathon Returns (The Guernsey Press)
One-hundred years after the start of the first Guernsey Marathon, which involved only four men, Steve Dawes claimed the renewed marathon title with a winning time of 2 hours 43 minutes and 54 seconds
