Johannes Rudolph won the Boulder Marathon in 2:56:44. Laura Bruess ran a 3:13:49 to win the women's division of the marathon for the third time, adding to her victories from 2002 and 2003.

   Weather doesn't slow down two-time Torres at Lake Tahoe Marathon (Tahoe Daily Tribune)
Despite snow at the start line for the first time in Lake Tahoe Marathon history, Tony Torres had no trouble defending his title and becoming the third back-to-back winner of the Lake Tahoe Marathon. Rebecca Eckland had the fastest time for a woman, but did not win the prize as she did not run with the elite division which started thirty minutes in front of the main field. Amy Jenkinson of Palo Alto won the elite women's division.
 
   Skynrod misses goal but wins Tahoe Triple (Tahoe Daily Tribune)
Lynryd Skynrod was hoping to set the world record for three marathons on three consecutive days. Skynrod ran the first leg of the triple in 2:39, but his 3:09 on day three place the record out of reach.

Disappointed with a loss at the Great North Run, Paula Radcliffe insists that the Beijing Olympics are the big picture focus, and mulls over what races to tackle next. Among other requirements, Radcliffe will need to run a marathon to qualify for the UK Beijing Olympics team.
 
   American Kara Goucher Takes On Paula Radcliife and Wins! (The Times Online)
The 2007 Great North Run was abuzz with return champions and stunning upsets. The women's race was notable with the return of World Record Holder Paula Radcliffe making her long-awaited return from motherhood and injury. Although Radcliffe ran one of the fastest half marathons this year, she lost to American track star Kara Goucher who was debuting in the half marathon distance. Goucher won with a 66:57. Radcliffe was runner-up with a 67:53. In the men's race, Martin Lel defeated Half Marathon World Record Holder, Sammy Wanjiru in a final 200 meter kick. Lel finished with a 60:10.
