   Field Of 134 Set For U.S. Men's Olympic Marathon Trials (Race Results Weekly)
A field of 134 runners, the largest since 1984, is set for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Men's Marathon, to be contested on Saturday, November 3 in New York City, USA Track and Field, and the New York Road Runners Club announced.

The 29-year-old Kenyan won in 2:06:29. Compatriot Magdaline Chemjor, running her first marathon won the women's race in 2:28:16.

Chen, 19, timed two hours, 27 minutes and five seconds to finish ahead of Zhang Yingying on the sprint. Zhang ran to 2:27:20 and Bai Xue was on third with further 26 seconds back.
 
   Nephat Kinyanjui Wins Beijing Marathon (Daily Times)
Kinyanjui ran a time of 2 hours, 8 minutes, 8 seconds to win the men’s event ahead of Ren Longyun of China and countryman Han Gang.

The wife of a Midland police officer who died during the Chicago Marathon is still trying to process the circumstances surrounding his death today when she learned that the ambulance crew transporting her husband got lost en route to a hospital, according to her sister.

Burch said the only trouble spot is a 14-yard area at mile 17 along the Bill Riley Trail. He said once the rain stops, officials will be out drying the area. A backup plan is in place should Waterworks Park become unusable.

Kiprotich won the 30th Detroit Free Press/Flagstar men’s Marathon with a time of 2:15.14.
