   World Anti-Doping officials to test for drugs in MTN Kampala International Marathon (New Vision Online)
The MTN Kampala International Marathon is set for November 23. Race officials have set out to have members of the World Anti-Doping Federation to randomly test the elite athletes. In order to secure international status with the IAAF, random drug test and official course certification are required.

   New York City Marathon Glory Comes With a Price (ABC News)
The 1970 New York City Marathon had only 127 runners and no one mentioned injury. Last year the number of participants reached over 39,000. The injuries the resulted included black toenails, bloody appendages, stomach issues, missing toe nails and slew of other abnormalities that makes many runners pay for their 26.2 miles of glory with some extreme pain.

Nearly 300 portable restrooms will adorn central park on Sunday morning for finishers and spectators of the New York City Marathon. Roughly 1,700 of the multi-colored 7 foot waste facilities have been set up at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island for the start of the 26.2 mile journey.

The Santa Clarita Marathon will start Sunday morning at 7 am in front of the Hyatt Valencia. Police plan to divert traffic and close roads in Manchester to allow roughly 2,000 runners to pass through the city while running in the Manchester Marathon. Streets will be closed or restricted to one lane and motorists should expect delays in the morning hours of Sunday.

Meaghan Mathews,Springfield, and Kathy Lynch, South Hadley ran a high number of mileage together while training for the Bay State Marathon, the largest marathon in the state. Mathews nipped Lynch at the line for fourth place with a time of 3 hours and 4 seconds. Lynch was just six second off her shoulder.

Goucher will enter the marathon world by racing against Radcliffe this weekend.

Simon Wangai was a lumberman in Kenya and a runner. Hosea Rotich was a sworn forest ranger paid to protect the trees from poachers. The two were thrown into an altercation and managed to become friends and great runners. Wangai was third in the Beijieng Marathon and Rotich is a favorite in this weekends New York City Marathon.
