	Alpharetta Marathon
		Pre-Race Review/ Lineup
		Alpharetta Marathon and Half Marathon Set to Run: March 2, 2008 (The Weekly Online) The 2nd Annual Alpahretta Marathon will begin at 7 am on March 2, 2008. This will mark Alpharettas 2008 Sesquicentennial Celebration. Along with a $4,000 dollar prize purse to include age group winners, special monetary prizes will go to the 150th person across the half way point and the finish line. The Boston Qualifying course will feature musicians and local bands.
	Antarctica Marathon
		Pre-Race Review/ Lineup
		Antarctic marathon a race like no other (Lawrence Journal World & News) Temperatures will drop well below zero and wind chills will further cause the thermometer to plunge. This along with the snow and ice will not stop Mark Andresen of Shawnee and Mike Ketchmark of Leawood. The two will run in the Antarctic Ice Marathon and dedicate their run to the memory of Andresens father Mark's father died this year after an eight-year battle with cancer.
	Cayman Islands Marathon

		Cayman Marathon Tags Great Prizes Again (Caymanian Compass) Tag Huer Watches valued at over 1,250 dollars will be given to the overall male and female winners of the Cayman Island Marathons. Other top prizes include airline tickets and weekend getaways donated by local sponsoring companys. Slots are still available for the December 3rd race start.
	Cox Sports Providence Marathon
		Pre-Race Review/ Lineup
		Providence to Host New Marathon (Boston Herald) Providence Rhode Island will begin hosting its newest marathon event beginning on May 4th. The events, titled Cox Providence Rhode Races, will include the marathon, half-marathon, marathon relay, 5 kilometer run and childrens races. John Mathews, president of Eident Sports Marketing, stated that it will be a runners course and void of any large hills. The Rhode Island Race hopes to attract 10,000 runners in its first year. A prize purse is expected but exact amounts have yet to be determined.
	Little Rock Marathon

		Holidays bend, but dont break, Little Rock marathon training schedules (Arkansas Democrat Gazette) Marathoners continue to train through the holidays but food and family time can gobble up precious hours for training and add on unwanted pounds. Coaches and Trainers alike try to rearrange their holiday plans to fit in the critical long distance running required to maintain the endurance levels required to complete the 26.2 mile distance around Little Rock, Arkansas.
	Run Barbados Marathon Weekend

		Steel pan bands in Barbados 2007 marathon (Caribbean 369) The Run Barbados Marathon set for November 30th will add musical entertainment as another way of offering strategic landmarks to the myriad of runners as they approach the finish line. Every runner will also be among the first to cross over the new swing bridge in Bridgetown,adding yet another reason for Barbadians to sport their running numbers during the Barbados Running Festival.
	Seattle Marathon
		Post-Race Review/ Results
		Martin, Steidl win Seattle Marathon on hill (Seattle PI) Andy Martin, 2nd in last years Seattle Marathon, won the Seattle Marathon in 2:27.11. It was the first time in 9 years Uli Steidl did not win the marathon. Martin was joined by his wife, Megan, and his two sons as he crossed the finish line. Both Martin and Trisha Steidl used the steep climb up Galer Street to put away the competition and claim victory.
		Human Interest Story
		Just 1% of Seattle Marathon money goes to charity (Seattle Times) The Seattle marathon raises money for the UW Medical Center patient housing. This year nearly 12,000 dollars went to the charity. Seattle boast several other areas races the make very large donations to various charities and non-profit organizations.
	Space Coast Marathon
		Post-Race Review/ Results
		Kenyans like hot Cocoa in Space Coast Marathon (Florida Today) Ezekiel Ruto won the Space Coast Marathon in 2:32.44...while Williamsburg Virginian John Piggott earned second place in 2:36:36 while struggling a little with the heat.
	Tucson Marathon
		Pre-Race Review/ Lineup
		Tucson Marathon Motivation (Tucson Citizen) The Tuscon Marathon has followed 5 runners since August through their trials and tribulations of training. Two of the runners may be plagued with injuries and incapable of finishing the looming task this weekend. Connie Lopez and Nicole Gererdo are attempting to join the growing number of female marathon runners nationwide.

	Mississippi Coast Marathon
		Post-Race Review/ Results
		450 Participate in Mississippi Coast Marathon (Sun Herald) Leonard Vergunst, a marathon fixture and masters runner who just happens to serve as the race organzier as well, won the Mississippi Coast Marathon in 2:51:31. The 52 year old captured his first win in four marathon outings this year. He placed 2nd in Tupelo, 3rd in Mississippi and 6th in the Mardi Gras Marathon.

		Green Bay Nurse Runs Marathons for Travel, not Time (Green Bay Press-Gazette) Running a marathon has become a growing trend and Gail Butrymowicz runs while she travels around the world. The marathon has become a way to see the world and explore new places. It is not about the time in the race, but the time spent traveling and living.
		No sympathy for ex-track star Marion Jones (Kauai Garden Island News) Giving back the gold medals and costing her teammates records in the 1600 meter relay is still not enough for Jones who has finally admitted to illegal steroid use. The former track star will be force to serve jail time and give back nearly 3/4 of million in prize money.
	Rocket City Marathon

		Runners still have time to enter Rocket City Marathon (The Huntsville Times) Huntsville's Rocket City Marathon still had 205 slots left for the 1500 runner field in the marathon. Runners from 41 states and several foreign countries will line up on December 8th at 8am to conquer the 26.2 mile distance.
	Space Coast Marathon

		Space Coast Marathon Aims at Fast Cash for Race and Local Economy (Florida Today) The Space Coast Marathon nearly tripled its race participation from a year ago. The economic impact of the marathon will generate nearly 500,000 dollars to the local ecomony all due in part to the new "Space" theme that the race organizers have promoted.
		Post-Race Review/ Results
		1,600 run in Space Coast marathon event (Floriday Today) Nearly 1,600 runners ran along the Indian River in Cocoa Beach, Florida on Sunday. The field size was nearly triple that of last years race. The early start and Space Theme attracted more participants to the southern state.

		Sedona Marathon Says Get Off The Couch on Dec 4 (Sedonabiz.com) Health Coordinator Jeff Masters encourages people to train properly in the Sedona Marathon's "Off the Couch" program. The program is designed to encourage Sedona to get moving and be more active.

	Rock 'n' Roll San Antonio Marathon and 1/2 Marathon
		Pre-Race Review/ Lineup
		Rock 'N' Roll Marathon/Half Marathon to Rock San Antonio in 2008 (San Antonio Express-News) The San Antonio Marathon can expect changes in 2008 with Elite Racing on board to promote the event. With the Rock 'N' Roll races, Country Music Marathon and Philadelphia Distance Classic among others under their belt, Elite Racing promises a larger event drawing local and out-of-state runners and a race with rock bands linign the course. The economic impact of this event will benefit the growing city of San Antonio.
	Seattle Marathon
		Pre-Race Review/ Lineup
		Seattle Marathon will be missing a Steidl: Uli won't go for ninth win in a row (Seattle Post-Intelligencer) Uli Steidl will not participate in the Seattle marathon on Sunday. He will, instead watch his wife, Trisha, defend her 2006 title. The couple is the first married couple to win the Seattle marathon. Uli will compete in a 50 mile race in San Francisco on December 1st and Trisha will use Seattle as a training run for the Olympic Trials in 2008
		Seattle Marathon \| Streak by Steidl will end Sunday (The Seattle Times) While Uli Steidl will not make it 9 in a row at the Seattle Marathon, his wife, Trisha and approximately 15,000 others will venture onto the course on Sunday. Steidl has dominated the marathon over the last 8 years and will relinquish his throne and opt to run a 50 miler in early December.

	Atlanta Marathon
		Post-Race Review/ Results
		Thousands slosh their way through Atlanta Marathon. (Atlanta Journal Constitution) Scott Lowe (36) outkicked Jeff Abbott over the last mile of the Atlanta Marathon to win in 2 hours, 39 minutes, 43 seconds. The rain soaked course slowed the winning time by nearly 5 minutes from last years time and Lowe's blood stained shoes would be proof enough of the days difficulty.

		Space Theme Helps Nearly Triple Space Coast Marathon Entrants (Florida Today) Entering its 36th year, the Space Coast Marathon continues to increase. Last year drew 624 entrants and that number will increase to around 1,600 for its upcoming race.

	Bangkok Int'l Marathon

		Kenyans Dominate 20th Bangkok Marathon (Bangkok Post) Kenyans took 13 of the top 14 spots at the Bangkok Marathon. Kenya's John Chirchir Tubal was the winner in 2:18:27, just ahead of Philip Tarus Rolich who finished second in 2:18:47. Disdery Lucian Humbo of Tanzania, the only non-Kenyan in the top 14, finished third in 2:19:28.

		Beirut takes a break from high tension to host marathon (The Daily Star) Race organizers were pleased with the outcome of the fifth edition of the race. They believe that the country is adopting itself to the running community.
	Milo Marathon
		Post-Race Review/ Results
		Sabal, Carreon top Milo Marathon (The Inquirer) Cresenciano Sabal, the 2005 Phillipines Marathon champion, was the winner of the 31st Milo Marathon in 2:22:57. Flordeliza Carreon was the winner of the women's race in 2:53:20. Bernardo Desamito finished second in 2:25:03 and Juniel Languido was third in 2:25:07.
