   Atlanta Marathon Results (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
Nathan Tew, 21, of Lawrenceville, Georigia won the Thanksgiving Day Atlanta Marathon with a time of 2 hours, 34 minutes and 24 seconds. Gabriel Helmlinger of Cambridge, Massachusetts was nearly six minutes back in second place.

According to an online survey by Colorado Runner Magazine, the Colorado Marathon, which runs along Poudre Canyon, was voted the state's best marathon. More than twelve-hundred runners participated in the marathon last year.

Mario Macias stunned the Mesquite Marathon Crowd by crushing pre-race marathon favorite Sammy Nyamongo from Kenya. Macias won the marathon with a time of 2 hours 19 minutes and 43 seconds.

Most would call running a punishment in any other sport. But a large group of runners participated in the first annual Mesquite Marathon which lasted for 26.2 miles of "punishment".
