Rowan Hooper won the Auckland Marathon with a time of 2 hours 31 minutes to earn his first title in the annual race which served as the New Zealand championships.

Jess Ruthe surprised herself by running the Auckland Marathon as a training run and winning the women's race with a time of 2 hours and 49 minutes which earned her seventeenth place overall.

   Bass Pro Shops Conservation Marathon Endures Last-Minute Course Change To Bring Finale To Fitness Event (News-Leader)
Despite construction and flooding along the Bass Pro Shops Marathon course, James Cheruiyot of Kenya won the 26.2 mile course in record setting time of 2 hours 25 minutes and 3 seconds.
 
   Kenyan Wins Bass Pro Event On Course Changed By Construction, Flooding (News-Leader)
James Cheruiyot of Kenya won the third-annual Bass Pro Shops Marathon with a time of 2 hours 25 minutes and 3 seconds to establish a course record on the redesigned course.
