With 37 brave runners (marathoners and ultra-marathoners) in the 2010 event, the Antarctic Ice Marathon set a new event record for participation, despite having to postpone the event several days due to inclement weather.

The Antarctic Ice Marathon took place on December 16 and 17. Bernardo Fonseca of Brazil won the ultra-marathon course of 100 kilometers with a time of 12 hours 41 minutes and 52 seconds.
