		Leach weathers first 26.2-mile race (Atlanta Journal Constitution) Justin Leach weathered his first marathon and pulled off the win as well. The 21 year-old won the overall Atlanta Marathon in 2 hours 39 minutes and 52 seconds. The race saw an increase of more than 3000 runners over last years participation.

		Shumye obliterates Beirut Marathon record (IAAF) Alemayehu Shumye called out his Beirut Marathon victory two days prior to the race. Not only did Shumye win the marathon in 2 hours 12 minutes and 47 seconds, he smashed the previous course record and won by over three minutes.

She will attempt to tie the four win record by Norway's Ingrid Kristiansen, who won the London Marathon four times between 1984 and 1988. The April 26th race will include three other former London Marathon winners including defending Irina Mikitenko of Germany.

Despite the conditions, Brandon Wingate won the overall marathon with a time of 2 hours 45 minutes and 43 seconds.
