   Little Rock Marathon Running on Empty (Arkansas Matters)
The Little Rock Marathon will host its seventh year of running this year and due to the economic crisis in the country, race director Geneva Hampton has lost some sponsorship dollars. In just seven short years the race has grown about twelve percent per year. This year may be the exception.

The Neways Maui Paradise Marathon, Half Marathon, 5k and Keiki runs are running the inaugural races on January 11th 2008. Kalama Park in Kihei will be the host for the running expo at the Wailea Marriott beginning on January 10th.

   Lyngkhoi, Shastri win Indian Open marathon (Indian Express)
What should have been a flat course and a great test for the 2010 Commonwealth Games left somewhat slower times during the New Delhi Indian Open Marathon. 2 hours 17 minute and 58 seconds won the mens marathon race while the women's marathon race was won with a time of 2 hours 53 minutes and 22 seconds.
 
 Route 66 Marathon

   Three-State Route 66 Marathon to End in Joplin (Kansas City)
The first ever Route 66 Mother Road Marathon is scheduled for October 3, 2009. The race will cover the famed route from Miami, Oklahoma to Joplin, Missouri. The race organizers expect to attract more than one thousand participants.
 
 Run for the Ranch Marathon

Although the winds howled along much of the course at the Run for the Ranch Marathon, the sun shone and the temps hovered near 45 degrees. The 2:30 pm race start allowed for near perfect conditions for the charity race.
 
   "Run for the Ranch" Raises Money for Troubled Youth (Ozarks First)
Hundreds of runners from across the country gathered to run distances from the 5K to the marathon to raise money for the Good Samaritan Boys Ranch just south of Springfield, Missouri. The races consisted of multiple loops through the Phelps Grove Park area.

   Outdoors Calendar include Run for the Ranch Marathon (News-Leader)
The Ozark Mountain Ridge Runners will be hosting the ninth annual Good Samaritan Run for the Ranch 2:30 p.m this Sunday in Springfield Missouri. The race, which runs through the Phelps Grove Park area, includes a 5K, 10K and half-marathon along with the marathon.

   Country Music Marathon Has Discounted Rate (WSMV4)
The Country Music Marathon will celebrate its tenth anniversary this year on Saturday April 25th. Entry fees for the marathon and the half-marathon will climb to $100 and $95 on January 1st.
