Tsegaye Kebeded won the Fukuoka Marathon in 2 hours 5 minutes and 18 seconds. He also ran 2 hours 5 minutes and 20 seconds in London and 2 hours 8 minutes and 35 seconds in Berlin. An average of 2 hours 6 minutes and 24 seconds for a new triple marathon record.

   Las Vegas Runner Who Collapsed at Sunday's Race Dies (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
Eric Reitman, 32, Las Vegas, collapsed near the end of the Las Vegas Marathon and received immediate medical attention. Reitman was unable to be revived and autopsy results are pending.

Molly Trauernicht, 32, of Wentzville Missouri completed the half-marathon distance at the St. Jude Memephis Marathon and collapsed. The cause of death has not been ruled.

Kenyans Christopher Toroitich and Carloine Rotich topped the winners list at the Las Vegas Marathon on Sunday. Toroitich won the overall title with a time of 2 hours 15 minutes and 15 seconds.

Mohammed Hussein Teman and Mihred Tadesse won the men and women's divisions of the Beirut Marathon on Sunday. Teman won with a time of 2 hours 16 minutes and 12 seconds.

   Sacramento's Marathon Runners Brave the Cold (The Sacramento Bee)
Despite the cold and wind that engulfed Sacramento, Tesfaye-Girma Bekele and Buzunesh Deba won the men and women's overall titles in the California International Marathon.

Several reporters from the Sacramento Bee trained for the California International Marathon. Preparation appears to be the major factor in getting to the starting line. Logistics seem to be rule one for marathon racing.

Tesfaye Girma-Bekele won the California International Marathon with a time of 2 hours 13 minutes and 42 seconds. Josh Cox followed closely with a time of 2 hours 13 minutes and 52 seconds.
 
 Everest Marathon

   Yak Attack Fails to Faze First Female Home (Otago Daily Times)
Anna Frost won the women's title in the Everest Marathon by smashing the course record despite being knocked down and chased by a Yak. Her time of 4 hours and 35 minutes and 4 seconds just over 27 minutes off the course record.
 
 Memphis Marathon

   New Information About St. Jude Marathon Death (MyEyeWitnessNews.com)
Race Organizers of the Memphis Marathon confirmed that the runner who passed away during the marathon events was not from the Memphis area. She was attended to immediately after she collapsed while crossing the finish line of the half-marathon race.
