 Austin Marathon

   2007 Austin Marathon Sets Records (KXAN)
The big story this year was the record number of participants. The 11,000 runners was more than they've ever had in the 15 previous marathons, and the weather was better than ever.
 
   Thousands Compete In 16th Austin Marathon (The Daily Texan)
The men's winner of the race was 20-year-old Kenya native Jynocel Basweti who posted a time of 2:14.02. The female winner was Ethopia native Moges Zebenaye who crossed the finish line with a time of 2:39.46.
 
   Ethiopia's Moges Wins Women's Austin Marathon (Statesman)
With an assist from Ismail, Moges cruised to a winning time of 2 hours, 39 minutes and 46 seconds in the women's race, holding off second-place Desiree Ficker, an Austinite better known as a world-class triathlete.
