   Women's half-marathon winner in Critz Tybee Marathon turns on the gas, after finding a parking place (Savannah Morning News)
Megan Feasel won the inaugural Critz Tybee Run Half Marathon women's race by about 90 seconds with her time of 1:30:11, beating Ale Kennedy's 1:31:49. Feasel said the only difficulty she had was finding a parking space in time for the start of the race.

   Kenyan Mwobi wins Hong Kong Marathon with new record (China View)
Cyprian Kiogora Mwobi of Kenya won the Hong Kong Marathon 2009 men's race with a new course record of 2 hours 14 minutes and 57 seconds. Winnie Frida Kwamboka Nyansik took the women's title with a time of 2 hours 41 minutes and 25 seconds.

   London marathon on Kibet schedule (BBC)
Luke Kibet, 25-year-old world marathon champion from Kenya, will be running in this year's London Marathon. Thsi will be his only race this year before his title defense in Berlin, in August.

   Myrtle Beach Marathon steps up to go green (The Sun News)
The Myrtle Beach Marathon is improving on a relatively "green race". The race offered online registration for it's six-thousand participants. Roughly twenty of the registrants used a mail-in hard copy.

   Resurgent Keflezighi Wins Third USA Cross Country Title (Race Results Weekly)
2004 U.S. Olympic silver medalist Meb Keflezighi won his third USA Cross Country Marathon, part of his contuing comeback following a 2008 beset by injuries. In January he won the half-marathon championship in Houston.
 
   Keflezighi Wins Third Cross Country National Title (The Washington Times)
Meb Keflezighi won his third cross country national championship and first since 2002.
 
 The Sedona Marathon
  Post-Race Review/ Results
   Elite runner Chuck Engle wins 2009 Sedona Marathon (sedona.biz)
"Marathon Junkie" Chuck Engle won this year's running of the Sedona Marathon with a time of 2:45:50, just one minute shy of the course record, 2:44:49. Joseph Fuss, the winner of the 2007 and 2008 races with times of 2:55:15 and 3:02:45, did not participate in this year's race.
 
 Tybee Marathon

   Gonzalez ices the competition at Tybee Half Marathon (Savannah Morning News)
Stephen Gonzalez of Statesboro, a former hockey player, came away with a win in his first attempt at the half marathon distance. His time of 1:15:20 put him 36 seconds ahead of 2nd-place Marshall Meyer. and 2:06 ahead of 3rd-place John Critchlow. Megan Feason, of Savannah, won the women's half marathon in 1:30:11.
 
   Inauspicious beginning for what could be big race, the Tybee Marathon (Savannah Morning News)
This year's running of the Tybee marathon was marred by a fair amount of confusion among out-of-town runners. The race was cancelled last summer, and by the time race directors Robert Espinoza and Dale Critz had resurrected it, rumors of its death had spread across cyberspace. Espinoza already has big plans for next year, however, as he aims to make the race weekend a 2-day event.

   Kara Goucher Triumphant in Women's 3,000 at Reebok Indoor Games (OregonLive.com)
A week after winning the Women's Mile at the Millrose Games, Kara Goucher was the cahmpion in the 3K race at the Reebok Indoor Games in Boston. She now plans to shift her complete attention to this April's Boston Marathon.

   Keflezighi Enters London With USXC as Stepping Stone (Race Results Weekly)
Olympic silver medalist Meb Keflezighi, who recently won the U.S. half-marathon title in Houston, announced that he'll be running in the 2009 Flora Boston Marathon. Keflezighi is continuing his comeback from a series of injuries that sidelined him much of last year.

Kara Goucher says that her main goal for 2009 is to win the Boston Marathon, and she's already preparing. This will be just her second marathon, and if she won in Boston, she'd be the first American woman to do so since 1985.

   With New Date and Ownership, LA Marathon Unveils Prize Money Purse (Race Results Weekly)
Under new owenership, the L.A. Marathon is offering a guaranteed $200,000 prize money purse, attempting to draw elite runners back to the race. The previous ownership had some financial difficulties, and struggled to paying vendors and athletes on time. The dates, start time, and course are also undergoing changes.
 
   LA Marathon to Feature an Old Course, New Starting Time (Los Angeles Times)
This year's LA Marathon will be held on Memorial Day, rather than in March, and will start earlier than in previous years; it will also return to its course of a few years ago, starting and ending in downtown Los Angeles.

Thomas Dold, 24 of Germany, ans Suzy Walsham, 35 of Australia, successfully defended their titles at the 32nd Empire State Building Run-Up.

 Beppu-Oita Mainichi Marathon

   Morocco’s Annani wins Beppu Oita marathon (Daily Times)
Adil Annani, the 28 year old Moroccan, won the Beppu Oita, with a new personal best time of 2 hours 10 minutes and 38 seconds despite windy conditions. Kenyans Chelimo and Mbote led Annani through the half-way point before resigning his pacer duties
 
 Chicago Marathon

   Registration open for Chicago Marathon (Chicago Sun-Times)
The 2009 edition of the Chicago Marathon opened registration for the 32 annual 26.2 mile race. The $125 entry fee has not stopped the race from filling to capacity earlier every year.
