Father Dick pushes son Rick in a special wheelchair from Hopkinton to Boston because Rick is a quadriplegic with cerebral palsy and cannot run himself. Rick is scheduled to have surgery to alleviate a condition, but his post-operative recovery will take up to three weeks, putting him out of this year's race.

   Inaugural ING Georgia Marathon Wraps Up (11 Alive)
Chirlee, who was originally signed up for the half-marathon, won. Valentina Levushkina of Russia was the first woman to cross the finish line. Her time was 2 hours, 43 minutes, and 15 seconds.
