Runners for the thirteenth annual Black Mountain Marathon were blown around with hurricane force winds and Arctic temperatures. Jeremy Donahue, 27, won the marathon with a time of 3 hours, 14 minutes and 36 seconds.

This weekend marks the thirteenth year of the Mount Mitchell Challenge and the Black Mountain Marathon. Mount Mitchell is the highest point in the Eastern United States. Runners will ascend more than forty-three hundred feet during the first 13 miles of the race.

Logan Sherman, Dallas, won the Cowtown Marathon with a time of 2 hours 31 minutes and 58 seconds the day before his 24th birthday and despite being led off course near the 14-mile mark.

Wilson Chepkwony won the tenth and final Gasparilla Marathon after running a race the weekend before in Jacksonville Florida and traveling more than 24 hours in bus to hop in a plane to fly to Florida. He won by more than five minutes.

Wilson Chepkwony won the overall marathon title at the Gasparilla Distance Classic in Tampa Bay just seven days after running a marathon in Jacksonville. His winning time of 2 hours 24 minutes and 48 seconds was seven minutes slower than his time from one week ago.

The Hong Kong marathon was considered one of the most difficult in the history of the race as a challenging new course, sweltering heat and ninety percent humidity stifled runners. Kiogara Mwobi managed a winning time of 2 hours 20 minutes and 12 seconds nearly 5 minutes slower than last year.
