The sixty-fifth edition of the Lake Biwa Mainichi Marathon was won by Yemane Tsegay of Ethiopia with a time of 2:09:34 despite difficult weather conditions.

Masaharu Kijima, Japan, won the Saipan Marathon with a time of 2 hours 53 minutes and 15 seconds. Mayu Mochizuki, Japan, won the women's division of the marathon with a time of 3 hours 10 minutes and 3 seconds.

Masakazu Fujiwara won the Tokyo Marathon in the final two kilometers on a rain soaked course with a time of 2 hours 12 minutes and 19 seconds. Alevtina Biktimirova won the women's title with a time of 2 hours 34 minutes and 39 seconds.

The Hong Kong marathon was considered one of the most difficult in the history of the race as a challenging new course, sweltering heat and ninety percent humidity stifled runners. Kiogara Mwobi managed a winning time of 2 hours 20 minutes and 12 seconds nearly 5 minutes slower than last year.

Wilson Chepkwony won the tenth and final Gasparilla Marathon after running a race the weekend before in Jacksonville Florida and traveling more than 24 hours in bus to hop in a plane to fly to Florida. He won by more than five minutes.

Wilson Chepkwony won the overall marathon title at the Gasparilla Distance Classic in Tampa Bay just seven days after running a marathon in Jacksonville. His winning time of 2 hours 24 minutes and 48 seconds was seven minutes slower than his time from one week ago.
