While eighteen student were busy spreading the healthy word about not smoking, first time marathon runner Austin Schiele of Hudson, Ohio won the overall marathon title with a time of 2 hours 44 minutes and 25 seconds.

   Jordanians place well in Dead Sea Marathon (The Jordan Times)
The sixteenth running of the Dead Sea Marathon showed strong finishes from Jordanian runners. Suleiman Zboun captured the overall title with a new course record of 2 hours 11 minutes and 14 seconds. Jordan's Kholoud Atieh took home top honors for the women's field with a time of 2 hours 51 minutes and 39 seconds.
