   Deadwood-Mickelson Marathon a Step Closer to Ultimate Road Race (Rapid City Journal)
Jonathan Nygard wants to run in the Boston Marathon. While the Deadwood-Mickelson Trail event is not a race conducive to running a low enough time to qualify for one of the world’s most famous long-distance events, it is still a big part of Nygard’s training.

The 27-year-old Kenyan pulled away from the lead pack just after the mile 19 marker, finishing in 2 hours, 9 minutes, 4 seconds.
 
 Sao Paulo International Marathon

   Reuben Chepkwek and Jacquiline Chebor Win Sao Paulo marathon for Kenyan 1-2 (The Associated Press)
Chepkwek took the men's race in 2 hours, 16 minutes, 5 seconds, beating Michael Tluway Mislay of Tanzania by 22 seconds. In the women's race, Chebor finished in 2:40:17 to beat Marizete Moreira Santos of Brazil by 37 seconds.

   2007 Governor's Cup: 4,300 left breathless (Helena Independent Record)
More than 4,300 runners and walkers turned out on a gorgeous Saturday morning for the 34th annual Governor's Cup, and more than 260 participants had registered for today's new bicycle event, set to begin at 8 a.m.
