Unbeknownst to Bill Strong, his wife Marie had arranged for Nick, a U.S. Army parachute infantry specialist on leave, to fly up and surprise his dad at the finish line of the first marathon the retired Coast Guard Lieutenant Commander had attempted since 1991.
