		Duel in Big Bear (Big Bear Grizzly) Slater Fletcher is inching closer to overall leader Ted Devito of Big Bear Lake in the Conquer the Bear extreme sport challenge. The two athletes are separated by only six minutes with the marathon event to be contested on September 12 at the Run the Bear Marathon.

		Deseret Marathon/10K/5K race registrations near deadline (Deseret News) Saturday is the last day to register for the Deseret News Marathon and accompanying events. Late registration takes place on July 22 from 4 to 9 pm and again on July 23 from 11 am to 6 pm at the EnergySolutions Arena. Late registration for the 26.2 mile race is 65 dollars.
