And while he reputation as an elite runners is growing, he missed the Berlin World Championships qualifying time of 2 hours and 18 minutes.

		Austin runner conquers marathons in all 50 states (Statesman.com) Frank Livaudais has joined the short list of runners completing a marathon in all 50 states. Livaudais ran the Vermont City Marathon in 3 hours and 9 minutes and 51 seconds. He started the quest in 2002 at the Austin Marathon

		Western States 100 has high attrition rate (Tahoe Daily Tribune) Many of the Western States 100 mile runners are challenged, not only by the distance but also by extreme elevation changes. Intense heat also greeted the four-hundred participants. Hal Koerner won the race for the second consecutive time in nearly 16 hours and 25 minutes.
		Palmerston North runners on winning streak (Manawatu Standard) Blair van Stipriaan finished third in the marathon held in Wellington. He was unable to overtake five-time winner Grant McLean who won the 26.2 mile race with a time of 2 hours 49 minutes and 28 seconds.

		Marathon Junkie (Columbus Dispatch) Chuck Engle, a.k.a marathon junkie, has embraced the name he was given by an Omaha news journalist. Engle won the Charlevoix marathon in Michigan on Saturday making it his thirty-first marathon of the year and just one more win is his growing list of marathon victories.

		Why run 26 miles? The beer at the end, for some (Seattle Post Inteligencer) Nearly twenty-five thousand runners from all 50 states and 18 countries attended the inaugural Rock N Roll Seattle Marathon last Saturday. MillerCoors donated free beer to runners of age at the finish line. The reason some runners attempt to cross the line at all was free beer. ID's were needed and some runners were just out of luck by not having their photo ID with them on the run.
		Rock 'n' Roll Marathon: Traffic was a bust (The Seattle Times) The Rock N Roll Seattle Marathon was touted as a great success. However those not involved with the race are crying foul as traffic tie-ups and auto congestion seemed to clog the city for hours. Many people felt that the course maximized the congestion and something should be done to correct the situation for 2010.

		No Stopping Gillette from Kona Marathon Repeat (West Hawaii Today) Just Gillette repeated at the Kona Marathon champion with a time of 2 hours 42 minutes and 6 seconds despite cramps over the last four miles which slowed his pace from the five minute range to the lower seven minute range.
	Kuala Lumpur Marathon

		Kuala Lumpur Marathon Runners left thirsty and frustrated (New Straits Times) While Kenyans were busy claiming the top three places in the overall marathon, the top runner in the Kuala Lumpur five-kilometer race took some research to find our the real local winner and many runners found a shortfall of water on the course.
		Kenyans Dominate Inaugural Standard Chartered Kuala Lumpur Marathon (Bernama) Juluis Karinga ran his first marathon and celebrated by winning the inaugural Kuala Lumpur Marathon with a time of 2 hours 17 minutes and 2 seconds as Kenyans swept the top 3 positions in the race.
	Mont Blanc Marathon

		Mont Blanc Marathon an example of true sportsmanship (Chamonix Resort News) Clear and sunny skies greeted fifteen-hundred runners for the Mont Blanc Marathon in the town of Chamonix. First and second place were separated by one second at Christophe Assailly won the hot and hilly marathon with a time of 4 hours 3 minutes and 23 seconds.
	RIO DE JANEIRO CITY MARATHON

		RIO DE JANEIRO MARATHON FEATURES OLYMPIC ATHLETES RELAY RACE IN SUPPORT OF RIO 2016 BID (International Sports Movement) Brazilian Olympic athletes showed up at the Rio De Janeiro Marathon to support the countries bid for the 2016 Olympic games. Antonio Marcos Pereira won the marathon event in 2 hours 17 minutes and 11 seconds
	Rock 'n' Roll Seattle Marathon
		Post-Race Review/ Results
		Peter Omae wins Rock 'n' Roll Marathon (The Seattle Times) Peter Omae had nearly finished the Rock N Roll Seattle Marathon when he began looking over his shoulder expecting the strong running of Peter Gilmore to overtake him for the marathon title. Omae won in a time of 2 hours 18 minutes and 17 seconds. Gilmore was just thirty-five seconds back for second place.

		Kenyan runners rule Kuala Lumpur Marathon (The Star) The Kuala Lumpur Marathon was dominated by Kenyan runners as they claimed the top three finishing spots. Juluis Karinga won the men's race in a time of 2 hours 17 minutes and 2 seconds.
