   Air Force Marathon Fees Increase August 2 (WHIOTV.com)
The fees for the U.S. Air Force Marathon, half-marathon and 5K will be increasing on August 2. The marathon and the half will increase ten dollars and the 5K will go up by five dollars with the 10K remaining the same.

Nancy Rossi-Fogle found out she was pregnant and had a bleeding ulcer after she finished a grueling march of 26.2 miles while finishing the Boston Marathon in 3 hours and 51 minutes. Perserverance was only half of her battle.

Nearly three-hundred runners showed up to support their physical fitness and local charities by competing in the Carrollton Festival of Races. Andres Pelikan of Kirkwood Missouri won the overall marathon with a time of 3 hours 5 minutes and 48 seconds.

The Carrolton Festival of Races will kick off at 5 am for marathon walkers or those with disabilities who wish to attempt the marathon. More than 100 runners have signed up for the revamped course that involves three laps to complete the 26.2 mile course.

Allie Scott struggled the final three miles but managed a sub 3-hour marathon victory at the Deseret New Marathon on Friday. Her time of 2 hours 56 minutes and 41 seconds outdistanced Julie Thomas, 2nd place, who finished with a time of 3 hours 2 minutes and 11 seconds.

David Yego wins the Deseret News Marathon after trailing the leader for the first 18 miles. On mile 19, Yego took the lead and never looked back.
 
   Utahn Wins Women's Deseret News Marathon (Deseret News)
Allie Scott, 22 year old from Salt Lake City, prevailed from an agonizing final three miles to win the Deseret News Marathon. She was the only female runner to finish the race in sub 3 hour times.

Joy Larson, 51, was running the Grandma's marathon last month when the heat advisory nearly canceled the race. At mile 19 she was not going to finish. The heat index had climbed to ninety-eight degrees. She told herself it was okay not to finish.

Sharon Jones, Director of the YMCA, says they are about forty-five hundred dollars short of the goal of twelve-thousand to move the race forward. The race lost it's key corporate sponsor and that setback has put organizers into an overdrive fund raising mode.
