The Cayman Island Marathon takes place on December 6 and race organizers are reminding possible registrants that the entry fee will increase next Tuesday by ten dollars for the marathon race.

   Four More Races Before Milo Marathon Finals (ABS CBN News)
The Thirty-third Milo National Marathon will take place in October and runners from Bacolod, Naga, Duaguete and San Pablo are still eligible to claim an entry into the race. August 30th and September 6th will be the final qualifying marathons for Milo on October 11th.

The Great Clarendon Marathon takes place on October 4. The twelfth annual race will traverse a 26.2 mile route from Salisbury and Winchester. Events also include a half-marathon and marathon relay.

Tom Morgan has been running for fifty-six years and will complete the Longford Marathon as his one-hundred and second marathon on Sunday August 30th. The seventy-three year old will join the race to raise money for the Irish Heart Foundation.

The Bartlesville YMCA is following the example of some of the youth marathon programs of the bigger cities. The YMCA has started a 'Run the Streets' program to challenge youth to run 26.2 miles over an eleven week period culminating with the Route 66 Marathon.

Runners from as far away as the United States competed in the Victoria Falls Marathon. Prize money was handed out through the top seven finishers. Cephas Pasipamire won the overall marathon with a time of 2 hours 20 minutes and 37 seconds.

Abel Mutai says that he will run the marathon in 2 hours 3 minutes and 30 seconds which would eclipse the current world record by nearly 30 seconds. He is considering his attempt at Dubai or London.

   World Championship Marathon Medal Earned With Lift From Boulder (Denver Post)
Yoshimi Ozaki took home a silver medal in the World Championship Marathon in Berlin. She trained in Boulder Colorado for nearly two months this summer in preparation for the marathon. She is following a precedent of Japanese women who have trained in Boulder.

   Hawke's Bay Marathon: Furness Fit to Tackle Challenging Taupo Event (Hawke's Bay Today)
Erin Furness won the women's open Hawke's Bay Marathon with a time of 3 hours 28 minutes and 54 seconds and then announced that it was a training run for the iron distance triathlon in Taupo next March
 
 Mudgee Marathon

   Tragedy Leads to Triumph at Mudgee Marathon (Mudgee Guardian)
John Fuller was set in motion last year to run a race in each state of Australia. The loss of his daughter after just twelve days of life compelled Fuller to want to run. His time of 2 hours 53 minutes and 34 seconds was good enough for a personal best and first place.

   Jenkins Places 63rd in Marathon at IAAF World Championship (UMASS LOWELL)
Former University of Massachusetts at Lowell long distance runner, Nate Jenkins, placed sixty-third at the World Track and Field Marathon Championship race. Jenkins was hampered with a hamstring injury that seemed to slow him to a time of 2 hours 32 minutes and 16 seconds.
 
   Kingston Athlete Finishes 33rd in World Championship Marathon (The Kington Whig Standard)
Dylan Wykes finished in the thirty-third position at the World Track and Field Marathon Championships in Berlin. He crossed the finish line in 2 hours and 18 minutes for his slowest marathon finish in three attempts.
