Half-Marathon World Record for Gebrselassie in Phoenix

Agencies are reporting that Haile Gebrselassie set a pending world record in the Half-Marathon today at the P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon and Half-Marathon in Phoenix, Arizona, clocking 58:55.

The 32-year-old Ethiopian, a four-time world and two-time Olympic 10,000m champion, knocked 21 seconds from the previous mark of 59:16 set by Samuel Wanjiru in Rotterdam last September.
