Hall to Bypass City-Pier-City Half Marathon

American marathoner Ryan Hall has decided to bypass the Fortis City-Pier-City Half-Marathon next Saturday in The Hague. Hall, who ran a personal best 2:06:17 at London last April, decided with coach Terrence Mahon to remain at his training base in Mammoth Lakes, Calif., and continue to focus on his preparations for the Boston Marathon on April 20. Hall was to face Haile Gebrselassie in that race.

Separately, organizers of the City-Pier-City Half said that Dutchman Michael Butter had also withdrawn from the race due to an ankle injury.
