         25,000 runners have signed up for the Standard Chartered 
                           Singapore Marathon 2006 

              Slots running out, runners urged to sign up fast

Singapore, 07 September 2006 … With close to 3 months left to the running 
event of the year, 25,000 runners have already signed up for the Standard 
Chartered Singapore Marathon. Response this year has been overwhelming and 
registration will close once the number hits 30,000. 

Limited slots now remain and organisers are confident that they’ll be 
snapped up in no time. Based on last year’s registration pattern, the final 
5,000 entries were taken up within 3 days. Registration for the Standard 
Chartered Singapore Marathon 2005 closed a month earlier last year after 
the event hit the 21,000 mark.

Interested runners are strongly urged to sign up now via 
www.singaporemarathon.com or at the Singapore Athletic Association to 
avoid disappointment.
