Nashville, TN and Washington, DC (October 1, 2007) – It was announced today
that "The Diversity Race", the marathon and the launch of "The Diversity
Race", the campaign, which are both designed to raise awareness and ignite
conversation about the importance of diversity and inclusion of various
cultures in America and abroad. The initiatives were born to serve as
the vehicle for a movement that provokes positive change in the way that
diversity is perceived and embraced in popular culture and as a whole.
Aside from its clever play on words, "The Diversity Race To Improve Race
Relations" or "The Diversity Race" was derived from the passion of the
company's founder, Berenice Mabrey-Ojo of Nashville, Tennessee. She had a
burning desire to help drive the human race closer together. She truly
believes that 70% of our problems can be addressed or solved with the right
balance of sensitivity, acceptance, love, education, and effort. "The idea
and concept was a very spiritual revelation when it was conceived. I've
always been very passionate about diversity and acceptance and I've always
admired marathon runners and their ability to come together and race
tirelessly toward a common goal, literally! Almost a year ago, the two (2)
passions that always ran parallel in my mind suddenly collided and I sat up
immediately and grabbed my laptop and reserved the domain names and the
rest is history. Runners truly represent the spectrum of diversity and I
love that! I will also train to run in "The Diversity Race", said the 42
year old Business Owner (Precise Management Company), Celebrity Marketing
and Fundraising Executive.
The Executive and Operations Committee is a very strong group of leaders

media design. Activist and former marathon runner, and Nutritionist, Dick
Gregory serves as the Vice President of "The Diversity Race", and advisor

"The Diversity Race ", the campaign is a celebration of the individual and
collective strength that all people possess. It will cause us to take a
step back and see each other for our unique worth, and encourage us to
re-define and promote a standard for acceptance, tolerance, love and
action, that will be instilled in this generation and generations to come.
"The Campaign will consist of an annual Marathon and a series of fun and
energetic events, workshops, seminars, galas, a PSA and a global tea room
tour that will host an intimate audience of 5-10 key persons in the
community who will converse about what is happening in the community and
ways to take steps toward improvement in racial and cultural tensions. This
tour will keep the importance of diversity awareness and inclusion at the
forefront of our minds! Outreach is also planned to take place in homes,
libraries, community centers, schools and churches to share perspectives on
the issues that are important to all of us," said Julie Wilson-Shiver, VP
