Goo Goo Dolls Drummer to Run Inaugural
              P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon

TEMPE, Ariz. (Dec. 10, 2003) -- Embarking on an impressive pre-concert
warm-up, Goo Goo Dolls drummer Mike Malinin will run the P.F. Chang's Rock
'n' Roll Arizona Marathon when the event debuts in the Valley of the Sun
January 11, 2004. As an added bonus, Malinin will sit in and play a song
with each of the bands that line the 26.2-mile musical marathon course.

The Goo Goo Dolls -singer Johnny Rzeznik, bassist Robby Takac and Malinin -
have sold nearly nine million albums worldwide with releases such as A Boy
Named Goo, and Dizzy Up The Girl. The Goo Goo Dolls' fourth major record
label release, Gutterflower, has been burning up the radio waves since its
release last spring, adding to the band's impressive six million in
world-wide sales from previous albums.

The Goos will perform at Tempe Beach Park at January 11. P.F. Chang's
Rock 'n' Roll Arizona is the fourth in a series of musical marathons and
half marathons that feature a live band staged along every mile of the 26.2
and 13.1-mile race courses to provide runners and spectators with
continuous entertainment. Each event is capped with a national recording
artist headlining the post-race concert that evening.

Malinin, 36, is an avid runner who has participated in several marathons
and has recently begun participating in ultra-marathons. For the drummer,
who joined the Grammy-nominated Goo Goo Dolls in 1995, running provides a
symbiotic relationship with his musical talent. While touring with the
band, Malinin averages 25 to 30 miles per week, squeezing in runs whenever
he can between performances and practice. When at home in Los Angeles, he
increases his mileage to 65 to 70 miles per week and is able to
consistently focus on training.

The inaugural P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & = Marathon race
starts at 7:45 a.m. on January 11 and will be staged at Wesley Bolin
Memorial Park in downtown Phoenix, with both races merging for one
spectacular finish in downtown Tempe. Gates open for the evening
festivities at Tempe Beach Park at 5 p.m. with an opening act going on at 6
p.m. The Goo Goo Dolls will take the stage at approximately 8 p.m. and all
seating will be general admission. Tempe Beach Park is an outdoor venue
with grass seating.

The Goo Goo Dolls are no strangers to the musical marathon scene either,
having performed as the headliner for the Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon in
Virginia Beach, Va. over Labor Day weekend.

All P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona race participants receive free
admission to the Goo Goo Dolls concert. Additional tickets may be purchased
on the official race website, www.rnraz.com., or at the pre-race Health &
Fitness Expo at the Phoenix Civic Plaza Convention Center Friday, Jan. 9
and Saturday, Jan. 10.
