JOIN THE TEAM THAT CHANGES LIVES, ONE MILE AT A TIME
Registration for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's
Team In Training Begins January 7, 2006
BROOKFIELD, WI, NOVEMBER 28, 2005 - In just five months you can change your
life and accomplish a goal, all while helping to save lives.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training® (TNT) is recruiting
participants to help conquer blood cancers by raising funds as they train
to run or walk a full or half marathon, cycle a 100-mile century ride or
complete a triathlon.
TNT, the world's largest endurance sports training program, provides
personalized coaching, group training and support, and the chance to meet
new people and be part of a team. In addition to weekly training sessions
under the guidance of a certified coach, TNT offers clinics on nutrition,
equipment, injury prevention and safety. Participants are also given tools
to help them fundraise. The Society arranges airfare and lodging to send
participants to the event of their choice.
"Team In Training is a great opportunity to do something life-altering for
yourself as well as for the blood cancer patients we're trying to help,"
said local TNT coach, Tom Zak. "TNT participants have the chance to make a
dramatic change to a more healthy lifestyle, make great new friends and
make a difference in the lives of others who are battling leukemia,
lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma. Taking on the physical challenge
of an endurance sport makes the charitable giving feel that much more
meaningful for our participants."
The Wisconsin Chapter is recruiting running, walking, cycling and triathlon
teams to participate in an upcoming summer event, including Lake Tahoe, San
Diego, St. Petersburg and Anchorage. Learn more at information meetings
