First Marathon
COURSE: 4  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 4

This year I took on the Challenge of completing my first Marathon and I couldn't have picked a better race, we were made to feel very welcome and the course itself was brilliant and challenging - love the hills and the gravel makes it even tougher. A big thank you to all the volunteers and organizers you all done a great job. I will be back in the future for sure.

63-93*F, 20 mph wind. Brutal weather. But the course support was amazing. Each of the frequent water stops had happy, encouraging volunteers, and in the heat of the afternoon, they brought a water truck by to shower us off and stuck with us back-of-the-packers the last 5 miles when the heat was unbearable. 766 ft total gain so no slouch course, some brief steep hills and several long, low-grade hills. 90% packed gravel. Wide-open vistas of wheat country in this sleepy little town. Great support. Thanks Treherne!

After living in flat flat Winnipeg for 2 years ( I'm from the UK) I really enjoyed the rolling hills, I will definitely be back next year. It's quiet when you run the full after the half breaks off around mile 9 but still a great race

Whatever you do, do some gravel training as most of the run except for the 5 km is on gravel. Great race and great friendly organizers !

My third consecutive full in Treherne. It was hot & hilly, but the addition of the showers en route & at the end was really great this year. The scenic course and water station support were superb, as always. On-site camping makes it easy to get to the start line. Well worth the drive!

I ran the full Treherne Marathon last week and enjoyed the unique country feel. For a race run on gravel/grid roads, it was extremely well marked with plenty of aid stations. Hills made for a tough course that kept the participants honest. Strong west wind from miles 14 to 18 were devastating. Races like this are special, because they are a rare treat. Thank you, Treherne.

Did I really say, "rolling terrain?" I must have missed those hills last year.... But again, great scenery and great support. Add to that a PB and Boston Qualifying time, and it makes a lovely run even sweeter. Thanks so much to the volunteers and organizers.

"GREAT SMALL-TOWN EVENT; SUPERB ORGANIZATION" (about: 2010)

First Marathon
COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 5

I ran the 1/2 marathon portion of this marathon event on the 12th of September, 2010 and was completely satisfied with everything. It wasn't too big (I think around 250 for the 1/2). There was a definite small-town feel and a whole lot of spirit to have around. All of the volunteers were great and eager to speak with you. Take this event in if you want to try something a little off the beaten path, are willing to incorporate hills into your run, and if you want to have an all around good time.
