This race was so much fun! There are multiple spots along the race for friends and family to come watch and cheer you on. Parking was easy. Plenty of water and bathrooms along the race and prior. Packet pick up was convenient. The path was mostly flat and very pretty. I would totally do this race again. The shirt was even cute and fit well!

"Great suburban marathon" (about: 2013)

6-10 previous marathons | 2 Fox Valley Marathons

This is a well-organized race along the Fox River in the western Chicago suburbs. There are 19 water stops plus Gatorade and gels along the way. The volunteers are very helpful and the crowds really supportive. Much better experience than the Chicago Marathon.

"Top Notch Organization. A lot of shade." (about: 2013)

The Wave start is unique but having done this, understand why. Course is narrow for the most part and a few times you have fast runners comming back against you. Nice relatively flat and shaded route. Great support at water/aid stops.

"Fast, scenic course" (about: 2013)

2nd year and a new PR at Fox Valley this year. Well-organized, scenic, mostly flat course with just a few ups/downs and tight turns. Wave start eliminates early race congestion. Fans are great, just don't expect big crowds. Keep an eye on the signs, as the 13.1, 20, and 26.2 courses diverge along the way.

First Marathon
COURSE: 4  ORGANIZATION: 4  FANS: 5

This was my first race ever and the first time attempting a half-Marathon and it was a fabulous experience! The weather was ideal and the course was picturesque. At the finish line, I was beaming and brimming over with pride and a sense of accomplishment!

"Great early fall race" (about: 2013)

I really wanted to run a September marathon and the timing for Fox Valley was perfect. Course was flat and everything was well managed from packet pickup to post race food. The wave start worked very smoothly and running with the other distances was not a problem at all. I was worried about crowding at the start and along the bike paths, but neither was an issue. This year's medal was also a great design, one of my favorites.

This was my first Fox Valley marathon, and my first marathon in 9 years. Not only was the marathon weekend amazing, the training leading up to it was spectacular. This is a race I plan to run ever year!

"The BEST race experience of my life!" (about: 2013)

From registration to the after race c ommunication days later, this has to be the best race experience of my life. The support, crowds, volunteers, expo, post race village, course and all of those who worked so hard to make this a wonderful event were more than successful. I'll be running a RNR event next month and I'm pretty sure I'll be disappointed after doing the FV Half-Marathon. This is going to be a regular on my race schedule.
