I have run many races and I have to say the Mill Race is a new favorite. Parking garage very close to the start/finish, reasonable registration fee, flat course, plenty of aid stations and porta-johns, great bands and entertainment. The marathon is two loops but the second loop is a little different than the first to provide shade with some sections where you see other runners. The spectators had fun signs and were encouraging. This was a well-organized community event. After crossing the finish, you could grab a printout of your results, purchase food and drinks, and listen to another good band until the truck raffle. There was also a kids fun zone with bouncy castles and balloon animals (and an indoor playground as well).

This was my 1st Mill Race Marathon but 10th since turning 40 (turn 50 in March). This was as well organized an event as many of the larger marathons I have completed (Cincinnati, Memphis, Indianapolis, Columbus OH, etc.). The city of Columbus should be proud of the efforts put forth by the race committee and many volunteers (including the multitude of residents who cheered, handed out water, etc.).

A special shout out to Andy from the bike crew who went beyond the call of duty to assist! Run this race folks. The added incentive is a chance to win a Dodge Cummins truck.

I ran the first one in 2013 and the only complaint was that the pacers didn't get setup till about 2 minutes before the gun so the start was pretty much a free for all! Ran again in 2015 and other than the minor course change and a better start everything was the same great after race party and the expo was well organized. Only bad thing is the hardest part of the race. Mile 17-21 or so you are in the middle of nowhere, no crowd support. :(

This was my first marathon, and I am so happy I picked the Mill Race Marathon! The course was very flat, and the first half of the course was really quite scenic. At 12 miles you split from the half marathon and it gets a little lonely, but the course takes you through neighborhoods and the crowd support was absolutely incredible! I felt so supported by the community, and the cheers really helped pull me through! I would 100% recommend this race for anyone looking for a fast, fun, no-hassle marathon!

Have run all 3, and it is well-organized. Plenty of half runners, but needs more full marathon runners - it gets lonely on the second half - but nice fans out in the neighborhoods. So sign up for a no-hassle race! Nice small community event and after party, plus chance to win a truck.

Ran the Marathon in 2014 and the 5K in 2013. The race direction was great and I even qualified for Boston. I think this is one of the fastest and flattest courses in the Midwest. Water stops and fan support were perfect, and the Expo and information was very professional and well organized. Plan to run the Half in 2015 for a chance to win a Truck... Nice Event

Yes, there was a train delay for a few minutes after the lead runners had passed, no fault of the race organizers - a low level train employee was at fault. But it was like Zombie Apocalypse as runners swarmed over, through and under the stopped train until they stopped them and moved the train. Check the posted videos. Other than that, they changed problems from 2013 with a new race director, and it was a great race.

Seriously a train stopped us runners from hitting a boston qualifier! Worst organization ever...Arghhh...

Imagine running Chicago, just shrink it down by 100%. Nice course, wonderful expo set up, fantastic support along course, and a killer party afterwards. Only negative was a minor train delay...but the locals I suspect will take care of this issue for next year. The whole darn town supports this race, give it a try!

Being from Indiana, I signed up early for this one. The expo was wonderfully, superbly organized. I was very impressed with the parking passes handed out.

I got to the start area 2+ hours before the gun and had no problem with traffic that others reported. The start was indeed not well organized...I suspect they will get that right next year.

I liked the first 6 and last 4 miles of the course. The middle section of the marathon was kind of winding and open, though. I didn't get the trip through the airport taxiing area.

I do think a 7am start time for the full would be a good move...the temps got very warm by mile 15.

Nice effort for a big marathon in a nice small town.
