I cannot say enough about this experience. Running your first 50 miler at 60 is no joke (I ran my first 26.2 last November)and although I thought I had trained sufficiently, I was educated in the Graduate class of the Stone Cats. But the funny thing is, it was great fun, very challenging and the professionalism and support of all involved made it a lifetime experience. I highly recommend doing this race at least once. I am hooked

Thank you Marty, everyone at G.A.C. and all of the volunteers for another INCREDIBLE event. You guys do a fantastic job. Love the course, all of the people cheering each other on, the aid stations (won't find bacon in a road marathon!) and everything about the race. Thank you.

A great race with a scenic and runnable trail. Wonderful support too! I will do this one again!

You won't find better people to volunteer, run and yet have FUN at this race. Supportive, considerate, kind and extremely caring. Everyone helped me in my first 'official' trail marathon. The aid station volunteers (who are all experienced ultra runners) knew when I was bonking and telling me to EAT! Bagpipes were played, headlamps bobbing in the dark, screaming cheers at finish, hugs at every station, thanks to EVERY volunteer and the Race Director-so much hard work and so appreciated!

This venue is amazing. Generousity and organization to brag about. The course was nicely thought out and I like the 2 lap design so friends and family can see us. 5 stars. Thank You GAC!

This was my first trail marathon. Many of my friends have run this race year after year. Now I know why. Great organization and volunteers make this a first-class event. The course has a lot of single-track and rolling hills, which is great, but it is a two-loop race, which I don't like very much. That's why I only gave it 4 stars. Aid stations are like trail parties, with runners and aid workers having a lot of fun together. Great technical tee and a special jacket to all finishers is a nice reward. I highly recommend this race.

This was my first marathon and my first trail marathon and I was really glad it was with the G.A.C. Even the 6 a.m. start didn't bother me because of the camaraderie of all of the fellow trail runners. I really had a sense of belonging during this race. The aid stations were some of the best I've seen (I've done many Ironman 70.3's and the aid stations were of that quality), which was awesome considering they were in the middle of the woods. The finisher's jacket was a pleasant surprise and a very nice touch to a great race. I recommend this race to anyone looking for a well organized, friendly marathon; just don't expect to PR because the course did have a lot of slippery single track sections, but that and the trail volunteers are what made it so great.

This was my 16th marathon this year - 57 in the past 4 1/2 years. I have been blessed to have been able to share my Christian faith and run a marathon in all of the 50 states (and DC). With that shared, I want to give my best and thanks for a wonderful (although painful) marathon. I learned that you cannot run a trail marathon like a regular marathon (OK - at 62 I am still learning!).... As hard as it was for me, and notwithstanding the 3 times that I fell, I loved it! The others on the trail were kind and helpful (even picked me up!). The food and helpers at the stops were the BEST!!! The t-shirt and jacket were very nice extras.

I wish you all many years of happy marathon trail running and challenge others to try it at least once! Well worth the trip from FL!

This is my all-time favorite race. I missed two years to see my sons play high school football, and was glad to be back. GAC, the club that puts on the race has created a unique running environment. If you've ever considered a trail marathon or 50-miler, consider this one.

Young, fast, old, slow, ultra-runners and marathon runners cheer each other on and enjoy each other's success. The amenities are better than they are fancy, and there's lots of food to go around. The shirts are high quality and don't make me feel like a billboard. The course is totally runnable and there are no heroic climbs.
