COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 4 OK so first the negative: if you're looking for a big city race with tons of spectators: this race is not for you.For EVERYONE else:this race is for you! Organized by a small band of runners who enjoy running and want others to share that joy, these races (a 1/2, a 50k, and a 50 miler also offered) did just that. A small race with a big city feel, it was challenging enough for the die hard trial runner, but with no time limits, every level of runner could enjoy their race at their pace. The views were breath taking and the looped course made you feel as if you weren't 'alone' on the course. The aid stations were well stocked and manned by energetic supporters who cheered for everyone regardless of their pace. Food was available to the runners all day, so if you needed a break you could grab a bite to eat and then get back out on the course. Race organizers were available IN PERSON if there was a problem, and even asked for opinions on how to improve for next year. How many other races can you say that about? All in all a terrific event that I will recommend to anyone looking for a great marathon! |
