This Christie Clinic Illinois Race is a flat course, great for setting a PB. All of that flat running means you are not being slowed down by hills, which is great, but it also means you are using the same muscular contraction pattern for a very long time. For some this means there might eventually be a bit of neural fatigue. A simple way to prevent this is to add in very short drills (like buttkicks) or leg 'shakeouts' for just a couple steps every 20-30 minutes throughout the race.
