31 Full Edinburgh Marathon 2013 Places Released.

Congratulations to all runners who took part in the Virgin London Marathon.
It is a truly magnificent event.

Now all eyes are on the Scottish capital and the Edinburgh Marathon
Festival on May 25 and 26 2013 which we promise will be a spectacular
sporting weekend.

We have received numerous requests from runners keen to run in the
Edinburgh Marathon who were due to run in the London Marathon and who have
raised thousands for their chosen charity but have been unable to take part
for various reasons. Now we are delighted to release another 31 full
marathon places.

These places are available to runners who have been in training for a
spring marathon and are looking for an opportunity to run the marathon
distance. This is on a strictly first come first served basis and will
close at 5pm on April 30 or sooner if the 31 places go quicker.

The cost for each full marathon place is £49.50, our standard entry
fee, plus a £49.50 donation to Macmillan Cancer Support. There is no
obligation to raise more funds for Macmillan or any other charity but we
hope you do.

Together with the Edinburgh Marathon's official charity Macmillan Cancer
Support and more than 200 affiliate charities, organisers are hoping to
raise more than £4.5 million in 2013.

Neil Kilgour, Edinburgh Marathon Festival Race Director, said: "Edinburgh
Marathon Festival has it all - a great city that acts as a stunning
backdrop to the event's proceedings and a programme of races that means
that everyone is catered for from children to marathon veterans.

"Running a Marathon is a serious athletic undertaking and sometimes it does
not go to plan. Consequently we are really glad that we can help in a
little way for some of the runners who had hoped to deliver in London or
another spring Marathon. We would like to help more but we are only able
to find 31 places.

Nothing beats the feeling of achieving a goal and you can achieve in
Edinburgh. Grab the moment and make it happen."

While we will try hard to post your race number to you, it may be the case
that you have to collect your number from the EMF Hub at Dynamic Earth,
Holyrood Park, Edinburgh on Saturday May 25. We will confirm all of this
by email with you.
