2024 TCS New York City Marathon Is World's Largest Marathon Ever
with 55,000+ Finishers
New York, November 4, 2024 - The 2024 TCS New York City Marathon, Sunday,
November 3, became the world's largest marathon ever with 55,646 total
finishers. The TCS New York City Marathon, one of 60 adult and youth races
produced by nonprofit New York Road Runners, is the BEST DAY in New York
City. The iconic race is one of the most inclusive and accessible sporting
events in the world, with the first finisher and the final finisher running
the same course on the same day. Below are some highlights and statistical
information from the 2024 race.

registration information provided by individual runners.

- Number of Finishers: 55,646
- Men's finishers: 30,795; women's finishers: 24,731, and 120 non-binary
finishers, the most ever women's and non-binary finishers

York City Marathon and Abbott World Marathon Majors race titles.
- Open Division: Nageeye became the race's first-ever Dutch champion, in
any division.
- Open Division: Sheila Chepkirui led a Kenyan sweep of the women's open
division podium, the first time a single country has gone 1-2-3 since
1977.
