Dec 9, 2009

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Charlottesville Marathon Course Change Beginning in
2010. 8K Road Championship added to the event.

Charlottesville, VA, December 9th, 2009 — The Charlottesville Marathon
announces a course change beginning in 2010. The new course will be FASTER
and just as scenic. The date for the event is April 17th, 2010.

The Charlottesville Marathon and Half Marathon have been recognized by such
publications as Runner's World Magazine, The New York Times and Running
Times magazine for the scenic beauty of the course.

The Charlottesville Marathon Race Committee has designed a course change
that will maintain the scenic nature of the race, while making the course
FASTER and adding more options for spectators and families to be involved.
The new course will follow the historic route for the first half of the
race, passing by Thomas Jefferson's Rotunda and some of Virginia's more
beautiful horse and wine country. As the Marathoners sand Half Marathoners
make their way back into the heart of Charlottesville, the Marathoners will
split off at mile 13 and enter some of Charlottesville most beautiful and
historic neighborhoods. The new course will include 4 miles along the FLAT
Riverview Park paved footpath.

Charlottesville 8K Road Championship
The Charlottesville Marathon race committee is very excited to announce the
addition of the 8K Road Championship to the event. There will be a cash
purse of over $3000 dollars for this race and we expect some of the best
runners from all over the world to be in attendance.

Also new for 2010, the Charlottesville Kids' Marathon (26.2 Yards) for ages
6 months to 5 years.

Registration for all events is now open at www.charlottesvillemarathon.com
