Mohawk Hudson River Marathon Reaches Capacity

Albany, N.Y. (July 9, 2010) - Following a trend evident this year in
big-city marathons, the Mohawk Hudson River Marathon race organizers
announced today that they have reached capacity for the October 10, 2010
race and have closed registration. In 2010, 400 additional slots were added
to the marathon, increasing the number of participants from 800 to 1,200,
yet for the first time in its 28-year history, the race reached that number
three months before the scheduled event. The Half Marathon, Presented by
the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, is currently three-quarters full.
Registrations are still being accepted, but it is anticipated that the half
marathon will be filled within the next month.

The marathon begins in Schenectady's Central Park and parallels the Mohawk
and Hudson Rivers predominantly on the paved Mohawk-Hudson Bikeway and some
city streets. It finishes at Albany's Riverfront Park at Corning Preserve.
The flat and fast course is a favorite for firsttime marathoners and is
used successfully by many runners trying to qualify for the Boston
Marathon. The half marathon begins in Colonie Town Park and follows the
Mohawk-Hudson Bikeway to the finish at Riverfront Park.

The Mohawk Hudson River Marathon is a USA Track and Field certified course
that can be used by runners wishing to qualify for the 2012 Olympic
Marathon Trials. The race, which is put on by the Hudson Mohawk Road
Runners Club, is also the USATF Adirondack Marathon Championship. For more
