Police Raid Edinburgh Marathon

Over 100 police officers from 25 Police Forces will be descending on
Edinburgh on Sunday the 24th May. Contrary to previous suggestions
reported elsewhere, this is not in response to a crime wave sweeping the
capital, but rather to take part in the 2008 Albert Bartlett Edinburgh
Marathon.

Every year the UK Police hold their national Police Marathon Championship
and this year in recognition of its growing success Edinburgh Marathon has
been selected to host the event. PC Steven Broadbent, Police Sport UK
Athletics, said "The Edinburgh Marathon is a great Event and I am delighted
it is to be our venue for 2008". PC Broadbent, in-between chasing
criminals, has competed 50 Marathons.
